Thank you all for a successful kick-off of the TinkerPop Gathering event! 🚀

Here's a quick summary of discussion topics that came up. Feel free to add on
if I've missed anything.

Feature Discussion/Requests:
- Known issues with inject([1,2,3]).limit() with local scope - Planned to be
resolved in 3.8.0 (https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TINKERPOP-2491)
- asElement()/isElement() step for type casting/assertion - Assertion planned
to be resolved in 3.8.0 with type predicates
(https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TINKERPOP-2234)
- coalesce() as start step without the inject().coalesce() workaround
- Gremlin Server configuration has challenges for providers, an API solution
for 4.0.0 would be ideal
- Add transaction timeout functionality in TinkerGraph
- Improved OLAP algorithms with less call() dependency
- Schema standardization (challenging due to varying provider needs)

Technical Discussions:
- Java version migration challenges (Java 21 enables virtual thread, but there
are compatibility issues in Gremlin Driver related to JPMS)
- Proposal for provider-focused interfaces for efficient data retrieval in
4.0.0: https://lists.apache.org/thread/2y62d7h2fhwb7nlbh7z1tm2t35cgpchc

Activities Proposed for Future Session:
- Live demos/coding sessions from contributors and providers

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the next session in roughly 2 weeks.
Stayed tuned for the specific date and time!

Cheers,

Yang
