Cole Greer commented on TINKERPOP-3297:
---------------------------------------

I just responded to a similar request in our discord earlier today:

As far as I recall, the only blocker we have for Python 3.14 at the moment is
that we have nest-asyncio as a critical dependency, which has not (and
seemingly will not) be updated for python 3.14.

Someone has forked it to create nestasyncio2
(https://github.com/Chaoses-Ib/nest-asyncio2), which should essentially be a
drop in replacement for us, opening the door to python 3.14 support.

As I recall, we've held off on that migration to rethink the role of asyncio in
general in gremlin-python for TinkerPop 4. I don't like how we currently have a
driver with async internals, but is synchronous only to users.

If there is demand for 3.14 support in the short term, I'm sure we could fast
track the nestasyncio2 migration for the 3.7.8 and 3.8.3 releases.

> Python 3.15 was released several days ago. In the context of adding support
> for it in Apache Airflow
> ([#74555|https://github.com/apache/airflow/issues/74555]), I noticed that the
> Tinkerpop provider cannot be included because gremlinpython 3.8.2, released
> last month, declares python<3.14.
> Would it be possible to add support for 3.14 and 3.15 in the foreseeable
> future?
