Thanks for all the info Stephen.
>if we just had 1 and 2, i'd be stoked so i think the PR should focus
around nailing those two things. The rest we could discuss as part of
additional JIRA issues.
This PR already covers 1 (with the added benefit of building docs and
javadocs.. who knows, it might serve useful and catch some failures there). And
2 is just a travis account configuration so technically this PR covers both.
>use of coveralls might be neat assuming they can aggregate a multi-module
maven project
This might be a sticking point as I'm not sure if
[Cobertura](http://cobertura.github.io/cobertura/) v2.1.1 plays well with the
coveralls maven plugin. This will need some testing.
Next to that [JaCoCo](http://eclemma.org/jacoco/trunk/doc/maven.html) works
fine but [doesn't play well with multi-module
projects](https://github.com/jacoco/jacoco/pull/97).
>have you looked at the recent build waits for apache projects
I'm not really sure where to look for that info. A quick google + travis
search tells me that apache registered for 30 concurrent builds sometime last
April and travis is showing 4 concurrent apache builds as we speak so that
looks like things should function quite well. I don't know how accurate that is
though.

will do.
