Thanks for the feedback. Looks like the first two steps are already covered
in the code. Small refactoring would be to ensure interrupt is **not** called
on executor thread.
```
if (!usingExecutor && !t.isInterrupted()) {
t.interrupt();
}
```
correct me if my understanding is not correct.
