Seems to be the time to have a closer look at https://github.com/basepom/duplicate-finder-maven-plugin to clean up conflicting maven dependencies. I just hope that PreResources (see Comment 3) stay supported and won't be loaded in parallel to allow overriding buggy classes in included jar-files.
