Really appreciate the response! I know it was an Avaya issue but they aren’t easy to get a hold of. I’ll keep trying.

No problem. If you want to try to hack your device(s), you are more than welcome to do so from our perspective. :)

There are several guides available online for how to upgrade, including this one: https://tomcat.apache.org/upgrading.html

If you are considering diving into this, you should first determine how "simple" the installation is. If you can find a directory that looks plausibly like a "standard" Tomcat installation (download the binary distribution as ZIP or tarball, then expand it and compare to what you've got), then you likely have a "standard" Tomcat in there. Likewise, if you find a webappnaame.war file or webappname/ directory, especially in a directory called webapps/ somewhere then that's even better news.

If you find stuff like that, you may be able to frankenstein something together. The highest Tomcat version you should consider right now is Tomcat 9.0.x. Get the latest version and see if you can get the WAR file (or expanded WAR directory) to even start in a new (separate) Tomcat installation. If it starts, test it. If it doesn't start... you can try posting error messages here and we'll try helping you get it up and running.

If you can't find anything like the above, you will likely need some expert help. I'm surprised Avaya won't answer. Are you still using a supported device from them?

Josh,

Sorry, we don't provide support for Avaya One X Portal, only for Apache
Tomcat itself. We also can't help you upgrade Tomcat inside your product
because we don't know how it's been integrated into the product itself
and our instructions may cause unexpected behavior or failure.

You should contact Avaya directly or consult your Avaya support provider.

If you are really running Tomcat 7.0.82 then I suspect an upgrade is in
order, as that version hasn't been current for 6.5 years. There are
likely many security issues that you will want to correct by upgrading
to the latest version of Tomcat compatible with your product.

Hello,____

__ __

Sorry to bother you with this but I did try going through the Avaya documents and searching out message boards but can’t find the proper information. I have a client using Avaya One X portal for IP Office version 11.0. They would like to upgrade the version of One X portal to 12.0 or 12.1 but I can’t find what version of Apache Tomcat that installer includes. Do you know how I could find that information? ____
