Reading some responses in the Tomcat 9.0 EOS (EOL?) announcement, I
think we may have a documentation problem.
For example, every item listed under "Downloads" on the web site has a
corresponding item under "Documentation" except for the Migration Tool
and Taglibs.
The existing documentation (assuming a user doesn't want to read code or
javadoc, etc.) is pretty much limited to two places:
1. The MT download page
(https://tomcat.apache.org/download-migration.cgi) which doesn't tell
you ANYTHING about what it is
and
2. The GitHub README.md file
(https://github.com/apache/tomcat-jakartaee-migration/blob/main/README.md)
I propose that we add at least *something* to the public web site. Are
there any objections to me adding some documentation for MT?
The README.ms file is mostly about "how" and not" what" or "why". So my
proposal is to summarize what MT can do and how it can help you migrate
your project from Java EE to Jakarta EE so you can transition from
Tomcat 9 to Tomcat 10+.
