Bug ID: 70280
Summary: Changelog and migration guide do not contain breaking
change maxLocaleCount=10
Product: Tomcat 9
Version: 9.0.123
Hardware: PC
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Documentation
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: -----
After upgrading from 9.0.122 to Tomcat 9.0.123, we were quite confused about
some of our users no longer being able to login.
```
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: More than the maximum allowed number of
locales, [10], were detected. Use the maxLocaleCount attribute of the connector
to resolve this if the application should accept more locales.
at
org.apache.catalina.connector.Request.parseLocales(Request.java:3409)
at org.apache.catalina.connector.Request.getLocale(Request.java:1177)
...
```
We found out, that this is the case for user with more than 10 languages
selected in their browser.
The only hint about this breaking change, is the line "Optimize Accept-Language
header processing and use of resource budles for localization. (remm)"
We would have really liked a clearly marked breaking change in the changelog,
as this is something that is quite hard to notice during automatic or manual
testing of the application.
=> Can you please add a clear line about this breaking change to the changelog
and the migration guide?
Thank you for all your work on this great project!
