The multi driver support for datasource (through a dedicated classpath)
The security across all layers (jax-rs, ws-security, tomcat realm, jaas)
Dynamic datasource to implement data segregation
Ability to encipher password in files (database for exemple)
The CI friendliness. All ports can be found dynamically so you don't need
to care. The server can download itself using arquillian, start, deploy,
test, undeploy and stop.
Works where tomcat works (Tomcat is more than 70% in enterprises). All
tomcat friendly tools work (otherwise it's a crazy bug and let us know). It
means that companies does not have to change anything in process, audit,
etc.
Developers are used to tomcat and can use tools they like without the need
to learn or install new tools
Cloud friendly and integrated in providers (metawerx, jelastic, etc)
