I'm certainly +1 for pruning it, but would prefer we get the basic 
javax-jakarta PR merged with a green build and then go about cleaning up stuff 
like that.

I think we could spend several weeks cleaning out things from 9.0 that we don't 
want or need.

That assumes it's possible.  Might be something complicating the 
javax-to-jakarta namespace transition.
