The Project Management Committee (PMC) for Apache TomEE has invited Markus to
become a committer and we are pleased to announce that he has accepted.

Markus, when I started contributing and I eventually got invited to become a
committer, JL sent a wonderful message[1] quoting David on the well known
saying
"It takes a village... (to raise a child)"[2]. I can't compete with David's and
JL's wonderful words.

So I will keep it simple and tell it in my Swabian words: "Ned gschimpft isch
globt gnua!“ ;-) - I'm very proud to write this announcement on behalf of the
Apache TomEE PMC.

I'm glad you've accepted the invitation and embraced the Apache way. As
committers, it's our responsibility to empower others to contribute, and I
think you've done an excellent job so far.
You have continuously contributed to the project by fixing bugs, implementing
parts of the EE spec, and fixing our implementation to comply with the TCK.

It seems that no task is too hard for you (and we have plenty of work to do) ;-)

Let's not forget your great work in our upstream dependencies, but most
importantly, helping users and other potential committers.

Becoming a committer simplifies the contribution process by eliminating the
need for patch submissions, which should help increase productivity.

Let's join together in extending a warm welcome and a thank you to him.

Gruß
Richard
