I'm a bit of an old time hacker - taught myself BASIC and PDP-8 assembler
back in 1972, first paying software gig summer of 1978.

In many ways I'm similar to the character 'Sid' from the userfriendly.org
web comic [now only available from the internet archive - I've only met
Cuthulu a couple of times ;-) ].
I've spent quite a bit of time on the comp.std.c and comp.std.cplusplus
back in the 1980s. to mid 90s
I've done design and development work on multiple generations of
distributed processing systems starting with Sun RPC, DCE, CORBA, RMI and
the rest of the acronyms - Since about 1998 focusing [and getting paid for]
Java and web services. This included a 7 year stint as a combined software
architect & webmaster at Bookspan.

For tomee, I would like to better grok the code and the application into
Jakarta EE / Microprofile development. There likely are many places where
examples need augmented explanation or new examples introduced.
