@andrewmusselman As the `make: *** [serve-local] Error 1` line portends, this is a message printed on server failure. I have only ever seen this on complete server failure, necessitating a restart. I do actually have a fix for this, not yet committed, but the same behaviour then happens during a _manual_ shutdown. I don't understand why, so I haven't committed the code yet. It's also difficult to tell whether my fix is reliable for the general case, because I have not yet created a reliable reproducible test case.
