There are only three fields left which are bound to the start of a phase: Email - *[P]* Manual voting process - *[P]* Minimum voting period - *[P]* The minimum voting period is actually determined in the form to start a vote. The release policy only sets a default value. We could perhaps change that, but it's equivalent if the permissions matrix (#242) is the same for both. Manual voting, on the other hand, is determined from the release policy. We could change it so that, like the minimum voting period, it's determined by the release manager when starting the vote instead. And, again like the minimum voting period, the release policy could set the default for this field instead. That leaves email, i.e. the email address of the mailing list. We should discuss whether this should be configurable at all. If it can, we should probably at least limit the options. And if we limits the options, again we should consider whether this should just be a field that sets the default in the release policy, and then can be chosen by the release manager in the actual form to start the vote. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
