I think we need to step back and separate the use cases. 1. Validating and parameterizing the version string provided during the **start a release** form. 2. Validating that artifact filenames follow naming rules and resolve to an identifiable file type. 3. Auto-tagging artifacts based on both naming rules and pattern matching.
