Hi list,
I'm doing my first 2.0 beta Windows build, on the m113 code, using
Windows XP Professional. I started out using 1.5.18 of the cygwin dll.
After I ran configure and bootstrap, succesfully, I would run dmake, and
it would freeze. I found that if I would redirect the output to a file,
dmake would run a little longer , and then would freeze. Ultimately, I
tried downgrading the cygwin DLL, first to 1.5.17 (which didn't help),
and then to a 1.5.14 which I got from another machine. With 1.5.14, I
was able to run a complete build. Even though I now have a succesful
build, I'm not pleased with this state of affairs, since newer version
of some cygwin tools (like bash) don't run with the old DLL.
I notice Issue 25037 which describes dmake freezing under cygwin, but
that was supposed to have been fixed in cygwin 1.5.8.
Is everyone out there who's building on Windows using an old cygwin? Has
anyone else had this problem?
TIA,
