We (that is mainly ause) are hunting spurious hangs when using current snapshots of the cygwin dll. See discussion on IRC and the cygwin mailing list. (Un-)fortunately we can only reproduce that hang on his system, so I'm really looking for other people with the same problem. The problem is that the build seems to freeze, but that it can be "un-hang" by entering: $ ls /proc/*/fd (sometimes several times) in a separate cygwin prompt.
