Hi Davide,
my blog described technical changes that are necessary to create Windows
Patches as msp files in the future. Unfortunately the patch creation
process for msp files is very cryptic and does not fit into our build
environment and our release process (administrative installation of all
source products and administrative installation of all destination
products and then creating a diff). Because of the huge number of
versions and especially languages and the huge number of files that are
typically included into our StarOffice patches, it is pretty difficult
to define the correct source products and the destination products, if
we do not want to offer a huge number of different patches.
For StarOffice we had an own patch mechanism in StarOffice 8 time frame.
It is also possible that this is used in OOo 3.x timeframe, too, but
there is no decision yet.
Ciao
Ingo

Hi all,
I would like to know the situation about the possibility to build and
re-distribute OOo patches instead of the entire build.
I've found something here:
http://blogs.sun.com/GullFOSS/entry/being_prepared_for_windows_patches
Are there more information about? What is the status of the support on
this topic?
Are there some experimental environment I can test?
Ciao
Davide
