Hi,

just been told today that svn.services.openoffice.org/opengrok/ is
operational, which totally rocks. Played a bit with it, and
apparently it does lack the functionality bonsai delivered for cvs
(it's a much nicer replacement for lxr, though).

"much nicer" is an understatement :)

So, I guess what I'd like to have is ViewVC with the additional
tweaks the gnome repo provides, e.g. when doing CWS development, I
frequently review changes like this:

http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/ooo-build/branches/ooo-build-3-0/?view=query&dir=&file=&file_match=exact&who=&who_match=exact&comment=&comment_match=exact&querysort=date&hours=2&date=month&mindate=&maxdate=&limit_changes=100

Any chance of getting this set up (we could surely help with the
details)?

it seems to me that opengrok should be able to do something similar;
if you look at the opensolaris opengrok, then you can browse to some directory, e.g. here:

http://src.opensolaris.org/source/xref/onnv/onnv-gate/usr/src/uts/sun4v/

and click on "History", which seems to show a changelog of all commits below that directory. unfortunately, there does not seem to be a way to view a diff for every commit (presumably that is merely a missing feature?). you can click on the individual files in a commit, and then their history, and then get a diff, but that is really clumsy.

in the openoffice.org opengrok, the History and Annotate features are disabled. if you look at the start page, the individual milestones are available as projects, which to me seems to be the root of the difference in available features.

is there any reason why ooo opengrok is set up in this way?

so, i wonder, if ooo opengrok worked like opensolaris opengrok, would there still be missing features compared to viewvc?

Cheers,
