or ssh://[email protected]/... currently fails with a
"Connection timed out" error.

This will take just a few minutes. Hot swapping the disk should have
worked, but failed for some reasons.
The broken disk was also responsible for the terrible performance of the
server in the last few days. It's now taken offline until the
replacement, so performance should be almost nominal.
Please don't schedule long running HG or SVN jobs today and do not
access the HG or SVN services during the reboot.
