Hi Calvin, Toree is commonly used in Jupyter environments, particularly those deploying kernels into resource-managed clusters like Kubernetes and Hadoop YARN. As Luciano points out, it essentially requires updates for new Spark/Scala versions that typically amount to compilation setting adjustments.
Although my involvement hasn't been frequent, I think that's also testament to Toree's stability. Having a new mentee is great for the project as well.
