I also agree that an ifdef structure will be very difficult to maintain and
make fast at the same time -- libev is all based around callbacks, not exposing
an array of event structures.
Maybe we should just make a branch in subversion to flesh out fully the port,
and then do some simple benchmarks to make sure there isn't a major performance
regression?
