* ``getopt_long`` is implemented on all the platforms we support.
* ``:`` means the option takes an argument; it is not a GNU extension
Here's what we should test http://apaste.info/5lw . If we detect that we
are glibc and set ``optind`` to ``0`` that is fine too.
