I don't think there is any documentation of the metadata tables at the moment. At least I don't see any in the manuals.
If you simply want to know what columns exist in each table, you can do the following: Set schema "_MD_"; Get tables; Then for each table, do "showddl <table-name>". Some of it is self-explanatory. If you would like to see documentation in the manuals, please feel free to write a JIRA requesting that. (Or I can do it for you if you wish.)
