Hi,

I’ve created an ASF Incubator Training Course, and upon completion, you’ll be
eligible to receive an open badge recognising your learning and contribution.
Note: The course itself is hosted externally on Canvas to support interactive
quizzes. It is not currently part of the Apache Training GitHub repository.

You can self-enrol in the course here:
https://canvas.instructure.com/enroll/N33MBP

But perhaps of more interest, the badge image, criteria, and usage details are
available here:
https://github.com/justinmclean/justinmclean.github.io/tree/main/badges/incubator-quiz/

The badge could be added to your LinkedIn profile under certifications, shared
on social media or personal websites and is verifiable.

While this badge is personally issued, it raises the possibility of the Apache
Training project serving as a neutral home for ASF-endorsed open badges.

Such a system could:

Recognize non-code contributions and community leadership

Provide reusable credentials for learning, mentoring, or governance activities

Offer lightweight, verifiable recognition across ASF roles and projects

Offer fun badges for ASF achievements

If others are interested in exploring this idea, I’d be happy to collaborate.

Kind Regards,
Justin
