The fact of the matter is that when converting to 4.0 people are going to have to convert across to using fulcrum components. It makes no sense to retain services in the core that are available as fulcrum components. From my reading of his comments Juergen is all for this and in fact I don't see how his former employer would be against it either.

It's not to be removed completely but by now we have three different
implementations to maintain (in Turbine 2.3, in Turbine Core and in
Fulcrum). I want to clean up a bit. The Fulcrum service should be able
to replace the Turbine service 1:1.
