+1 to having another 1.x release shortly. What are the big new things
over 1.5 though? The 1.5 branch was taken on r775437 and looking at
all the commit log messages in 1.x since then i'm not seeing so much
big so I wonder if the release should be 1.5.1 instead of 1.6?

+1 for another 1.x release where we should fix the known issues from
1.5. As for the name, I'm +0 and ok either way.
I have a few bug fixes to check in when I get a chance. +1 for
including these in a release soon. None of the fixes is very major
and I don't have any strong preference between calling the release
1.5.1 or 1.6.
