I've checked in the fixes I made in 1.x in the hope that it will help (shouldn't do any harm). This may help a bit but I'm still getting perm gen failures. I'm running with OSGi and suffering from too much information, too many classloaders to check etc. It would be worth doing some testing with the non-OSGi version of the tests to see if this shows up anything unusual.
