samples/store-secure doesn't work properly

The store-secure sample runs but doesn't seem to do anything useful.
There are three launchers:
launch.Launch (exposed as the "ant run" target)
- this runs and prompts for a username and password, but it doesn't do any
checking on what was entered
launch.LaunchProtected (not exposed in the ant script)
- this runs without doing any security prompting. I presume this isn't
correct.
launch.LaunchSSL (not exposed in the ant script)
- this hangs on startup
