Other projects tag issues in JIRA that may be more accessible to newcomers with the label "noob". This makes it a bit easier for people who want to get started to filter out tasks that may help them get up to speed. I'm not sure we have enough outstanding issues currently for this to be a problem yet, but it's something to consider going forward.
