python is delivered within OOo and that's great !!!
The last OOo version shows a 2.3.4 python version
Someone on the french IRC channel asked me if it's possible to use a
separate python version... I could be great to propose the choice.

be carefull though with debian. The system python is not built with
standards options (UCS4 and not UCS2) and you'll have to re-built it
