I cannot bootstrap OOo 3.0.1 under Wine 1.1.15 (Fedora 10).
Bootstrapping works fine under native Linux or native Windows now*,

I very much appreciate any advice as I would like to publish an
updated and cross-platform version of this benchmark[1].

* When upgrading to OOo 3.0.0 I found a regression which I filed as
bug 99754 [2]. In Windows XP with OOo 3.0.x I found it necessary to
start OOo from an external process rather than from the same process.
However, this workaround doesn't help Wine.

Given that 99754 is apparently fixed for OOo 3.1.0, you might want to
check whether the Wine problem goes away with OOo 3.1.0, too.
