Reveal codes is a much debated topic in OpenOffice.org (OOo). Unlike
WordPerfect but like Microsoft Office OOo doesn't use in-line codes
instead it has the concept of objects. However, I have written a macro
as proof of concept for Reveal Codes - it is prety crude and is
available from:
http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/hillview/OOo/

Unfortunately, although many people like you have asked for this feature
only one person has sent me a modification or given realistic,
constructive feedback.

Normally a list of manuals is available from:
http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/index.html
but the site is currently unavailable due a system upgrade.

You could create your own distribution with your own default preferences
- I confess that I haven't done this yet, but there is a distribution
mailing list to help.

Cheers, Ian
