I asked Joe Schaefer (who didn't know) and then Jukka about a symbolic link in p.a.o directory where our website is hosted, called "mail".
You can see it by pointing your browser to uima.apache.org/mail Here's Jukka's answer - I think we should just leave this as-is. -Marshall -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: Re: mail symbolic link in people.apache.org /www/uima.apache.org Date: Tue, 13 Apr 2010 17:27:23 +0200 From: Jukka Zitting <[email protected]> To: Marshall Schor <[email protected]> Hi, On Tue, Apr 13, 2010 at 12:26 PM, Marshall Schor <[email protected]> wrote: > Do you know what this symbolic link that Joe put in our top level directory > is for? It's mostly useful for people who want to set up custom mailing list archives or do some data mining on the project history. For example I know some people who like to import the full archives of a project mailing list to their local mail client so they always have access to the list archives even when they're offline. The symlink doesn't really harm anything, so I've typically recommended projects to keep it around for the few people who find it useful, but it's no big loss if the link is removed.
