I nooticed in looking at the uima-commits mailing list that several minor edits Tommaso was doing were not properly "diffed", in the sense, that it appeared that SVN didn't recognize that many lines were not changed.
What was really happening, was that in these files, the eol-style was not set, so the previous edit had put on one kind of line endings (say, Windows), and then the edit put on another (say, linux). SVN then thought all the lines were changed... So - we should put this flag on for all files likely to be edited using text file editing, unless there's some special reason not to (e.g., testing line endings, or some special non-utf8 encoding, etc.). I put up a jira for this: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/UIMA-2130 -Marshall
