Jens Grivolla commented on UIMA-2137:
-------------------------------------

Works great. I agree on maintaining short cuts as defined on the entire type
system, it's only a minor inconvenience in the case that no shortcut could be
assigned.

If it was possible to somehow prioritize which types get assigned shortcuts,
even this minor inconvenience could be avoided.

Also, the edit view does not switch to the just added annotation, unless the
annotation type corresponds to the current mode.

> The Quick Type Selection dialog currently shows a list of all types in the
> type system.
> This causes two issues:
> - A user can add an annotation of a type which is not displayed in the
> Annotation Editor
> - The dialog is unusable for really large type systems
> To enhance the dialog it should only show the types which are displayed in
> the Annotation Editor, display means annotation types selected inside the
> shown annotation types or the mode type.
> The key short cuts should be defined on the entire type system and not only
> on the shown types in the dialog, because otherwise a user might gets
> confused when they change depending on the shown types.
