Selection handling in the Annotation Editor is confusing

The Annotation Editor can select annotations which are of the current mode
type. Currently the selection can only be changed if a new annotation is
selected.
It turned out that this behavior is confusing especially for new users for the
following reasons:
- If only one annotation exists, it cannot be un-selected
- and the annotation color is unexpected, because it is the selection color
To fix this un-select the annotation when the cursor moves away from the
annotation. This way a new user will find out that the color changes depending
on the curser position rather quickly.
