And that is why I decided to distinguish between two different types of settings. There are now persistent preferences which can be easily shared between users (the ide plugin saves it to a file), and session preferences which are local to one user, just like eclipse does with a lot of
things (e.g. which editors and views have been opened).
The visibility preferences are now part of the session preferences.
