Hello, if you did not already you should have a look at these pages: http://uima.apache.org/get-involved.html http://uima.apache.org/contribution-policy.html http://uima.apache.org/project-guidelines.html
The usual way to start is to contribute patches to jira items, get involved in discussion and pickup work items, propose changes or new things on the dev list. I am mostly working on the Cas Editor which is an eclipse based annotation tool, if you would like to contribute to that I can dig out some jiras for you. Are there a certain areas which interest you in UIMA? Jörn On 1/26/12 5:27 PM, Josh Fischer wrote:
Good Morning Everyone, My name is Josh Fischer and I would like to ease my way into contributing on this product. I am a junior at Webster University pursuing a bachelor in Computer Science in St. Louis, MO. I'm just getting my feet wet with programming and plan on providing substantial feedback and assisting where I can. I am new to this field, but I plan to learn and help out as much as I can. If there are thoughts on where I could start I'm open to suggestions! I am however, waiting on final clearance from my employer to make sure there will not be any problems with contract obligations. -Josh
