Jim Challenger created UIMA-2837:
------------------------------------

Summary: Ducc startup scripting must create the webserver jsp
compilation directory if it doesn't exist.
                 Key: UIMA-2837
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/UIMA-2837
             Project: UIMA
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: DUCC
            Reporter: Jim Challenger
            Assignee: Jim Challenger

If the webserver's jsp compilation directory does not exist at boot, the
webserver will fail to serve JSPs. It appears that Jetty does in fact create
the directory, but a bit after-the-fact, so activation of a JSP causes an HTTP
500 error on fetch of the JSP. Restart of the webserver "fixes" the problem
because now the directory exists. Seems like bad behavior! A trivial bypass
is to insure the directory exists at boot.
