We are using a service provided by atlassian, called "fisheye". See https://fisheye6.atlassian.com/
When you commit, if the commit message contains one (or more) Jira identifier(s), such as UIMA-1234 somewhere near the beginning of the commit comment, this service picks it up and generates a comment in the Jira log, which includes the links to the fisheye display of the changes, in several display formats. -Marshall
