cluetip or poor use thereof seems to be the performance issue. Help has be
sought via https://github.com/kswedberg/jquery-cluetip/issues/126. Will
disable cluetip use unless and until a significant speed-up is discovered.
Requires changes to both WS rendering (producer) and ducc.js (consumer).
