Richard Eckart de Castilho commented on UIMA-4668:
--------------------------------------------------

Is UIMA responsible for the serialization or could the objects themselves do
anything about it, for example be Serializable or Externalizable?

> UV3 Feature Value support for arbitrary Java Object

>
> Support a UIMA primitive value for a Feature which is a Java Object. This
> means a feature could be a Java HashMap or Array List, etc.
> Extend ser/deserialization to support this.
> Filter out these for non-Java environments, until those get support.
> Subset this goal if needed to be practical. Would be good to at least
> support the more popular Java maps and lists.
