CAS Multiplier is necessary for every project?

Hi,

I have a project which is based on UIMA framework, and I would like to
scale it out using UIMA DUCC, but it does not have a CAS Multiplier, do I
have to create one for it or it's just fine to run it on DUCC without CM?
