The approach for assigning adjusted offset slots in alpha02 doesn't work in the
current release due to redesign. If JCas classes, generated for alpha02, but
not updated for beta or later are being used, they fail, with a poor message.
Remove the (now non-working) bit of support code for alpha02 and improve the
error message to say the JCas class needs to be rebuilt for the current version
of UIMA.
