Please read the Guide for new committers, http://apache.org/dev/contributors.html and ask lots of questions (probably on the this (dev@uima.apache.org) mailing list. We also have an initial setup guide (a bit out of date, updates welcome!) for UIMA projects, on our uima website, https://uima.apache.org/one-time-setup.html Ask your Ruta colleagues about what versions they're using of Eclipse and Maven, and use those.
