Yeah, I commit these files to have the code style settings in the repo. Unfortunately, as Eclipse versions change, these files get dirty on checkout. Right. There is also a .gitattributes file which tries setting up file types and line endings to smoothen things if Linux/OS X and Windows users collaborate on the repo.
