By the way, with the merge of Karaf 4.2.x PR, we should be ready for JDK 9+ (it needs deeper tests, but Karaf 4.2.x is fully JDK 9+ compliant). I remember I did some changes for the JDK 9+ (jaxb, etc), but nothing major.
