Didn't find any duplicate writes. I did find some extra writes that were no
longer required and were counting as extra cassandra writes. The writes that
were explained to me seemed to be needed for different collections. If we want
to change how the write path works then that would require a different effort
than is described here.
The add to collection in question would create the entity, and add it to the
collection. Then it would add all the default data to the collection as
connections.
