The backend code may detect an invalid public IP address and update
reservation.remoteIP. The address is usually 0.0.0.0 or 169.254.x.x. This may
occur if the address is retrieved while the public interface is still
initializing.
This is difficult to code around because there is no certain way to determine
when all devices are done being initialized.
